Since the beginning of the Nebraska football team’s spring practice, there’s been an awful lot of talk about how Dylan Raiola was changing and growing for his sophomore season. While most of the growth has been the mental kind, turning into a real leader, his head coach has also talked about actual physical changes.

During his first press conference of the spring, Matt Rhule said that Raiola needed to reshape his body a bit from his freshman season. It appears that the star quarterback took that to heart and has indeed worked on his growth.

Nebraska football's Dylan Raiola reveals grind behind body transformation

Raiola met with the media on Thursday afternoon and discussed how he kept in shape this offseason, mentioning he did a variety of things to improve his conditioning, including working closely with the Husker strength and nutrition staff.

The Nebraska football quarterback believes he’s in the best shape of his life heading into spring practice but was honest with the media about how difficult the offseason has been for him. In order to get in that shape, it was no easy task.

""If I'm being honest, it sucks,. I'm just being honest. It's a constant grind every day. Sometimes you don't see change right away. In this instance, a physical body standpoint doesn't change in a day, it doesn't change in a week, it doesn't change in two weeks, not even three. There's just the consistency of staying on it and keep going on it.""

The Nebraska football team is definitely hopeful that everything he put himself through will mean a better season for him and a better season for the Huskers.
