Earlier this year, it was divulged how much money the Nebraska football team both spent and made in 2024. Now the university, through another public records request, has officially revealed what several of the program’s coaches are making.

The look at the salaries is at the very least, an interesting peak into where the Huskers stand as far as salaries with many of the other major programs in the country. For a university that has had some major outlays over the last few years, it’s clear that Troy Dannen and Matt Rhule are making sure the program is still one that is not afraid of spending money in order to aim for success.

There was also a rather interesting tidbit in this release, as part of the rather unprecedented shifts that went on with the Nebraska football program during the 2024 season. Former offensive coordinator and tight ends coach Marcus Satterfield remains the highest paid assistant on the staff despite the demotion, making $1.42 million.

Nebraska football coaching staff salaries revealed

Defensive coordinator John Butler had his salary raised to $1 million from $700,000 on December 10 and will make $1.1 million in the 2026 season. Offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen will make $1.2 million per year.

Phil Simpson, the new edge rushers coach, will make $350,000, and new defensive backs coach Addison Williams will make $625,000. New Nebraska football Defensive line coach Terry Bradden has not finalized his deal and so his contract was not made public yet. It’s likely he will finalize once the Kansas City Chiefs play the Super Bowl. Bradden is still on the staff with the AFC Champs.
