The Nebraska football team is very, very close to starting preparations for what could be called a make or break season for head coach Matt Rhule. After a 7-6 second season in Lincoln, there is plenty of expectations that the Huskers are going to be a lot better. But before fall camp starts, Rhule, as well as three Cornhuskers players will head to Las Vegas to answer any and all questions that may come their way from the Big Ten Media.

On Monday, Nebraska announced the three players that will accompany their head coach to Big Ten Media Days and the roll call wasn’t hard to see coming.

Raiola, Lutovsky and Singleton to represent Nebraska at Big Ten Media Days in Las Vegas

Nebraska football offensive lineman Henry Lutovsky, quarterback Dylan Raiola, and safety Deshon Singleton will offer a mostly veteran presence to the Husker players this summer. Raiola is one of the youngest to make the trip since this kind of thing became a big deal. Granted, the sophomore quarterback is considered a leader on the team and this journey is just another way for him to prove as much.

It feels as though this is sort of a special Big Ten Media Days because it’s the first time it’s been held in Las Vegas. This would appear to be a wink and a nod to the newest members of the conference that hail from the west coast.

For several years now, the event was staged in Indianaapolis as that was essentially in the middle of the areas where all the teams are located. With USC, UCLA, Oregon and Washington, the topography shifted.

The Nebraska football contingent will be part of the first day's lineup, along with Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Ohio State and Rutgers on Tuesday, July 22. Day two will feature Minnesota, Northwestern, Oregon, Penn State, Washington, and Wisconsin. Day three will feature Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, UCLA, and USC.
