The Nebraska football team has been hoping to find a way to steal a 4-star offensive tackle away from some of the best teams in the country. Until recently, it seemed as though the Huskers were managing to do just that in regards to Claude Mpouma.
However, over the last week Mpouma has been noticed by more Power 4 opponents, including Big Ten rival Ohio State. The Buckeyes came in last week with an official offer. And now the Huskers are going to have to find a way to fight off the defending national champs.
The Nebraska football team had been a favorite for Mpouma and according to On3, is still the front runner. Now it’s all about making sure they are able to stay in the lead for the 4-star offensive tackle out of Chicago, Illinois.

Nebraska football fighting off defending national champs for offensive tackle
Even before the Buckeyes came calling, Power 4 programs were starting to really take notice of the prospect who is quite new to the sport. On January 31, Oklahoma and Michigan gave him an offer. Just a few weeks later, the Florida Gators and the Penn State Nittany Lions came with offers as well.
Despite still being relatively new to football, the offensive tackle has more than 20 offers and the vast majority of those were from Power Conference programs.
The Nebraska football team has clearly made an impression. Now they just need to get an official visit from the offensive tackle. Here’s hoping he announces when he will take those visits in the next few weeks.
