While the Nebraska football team is busy worrying about beating the Indiana Hoosiers, the Huskers coaching staff also knows it needs to worry about the recruiting front. That’s especially true when it comes to Jeremiah Jones.

Jones, a 3-star athlete out of Murray, Kentucky who committed to NU over  Louisville this summer has looked like someone who could see a flip for a few months now. There was a time when it looked like Missouri might be the team to do it. However, an ACC power is now in the mix.

Jones announced earlier this week that Florida State gave him an official offer. Now it’s time to sit back and see how the Nebraska football team works to keep him on board.

The good news here, if that kind of thing matters to the player who most see as being on the defensive side of things when he goes to college, is that the Seminoles appear to be in trouble. Meanwhile, the Huskers are hopefully on the upswing.

That doesn’t always matter, because if it did, NU wouldn’t have some of the recruits it does. Dylan Raiola being chief among them.

The race to keep commits at this point is ramping up, as we’re just a few months away from national signing day. The big question is going to be whether the Nebraska football team can keep Jones from taking an official visit and secure him in the fold.
