For the Nebraska football team, the transfer portal taketh away, and head coach Matt Rhule hopes it will giveth as well. NU has lost a ton of defenders to the portal so far, and now the coaching staff is starting to pinpoint the players it wants to try and bring in to replace them.
The Huskers have taken most of their hits among the front seven and they are trying to reload at linebacker with one of their first targets. It turns out that they’re looking to bring in multiple people in the linebacker corps, making it clear they’re taking things seriously.
To that end, several reports started circulating online on Monday night that the Nebraska football team is set to host one of the better linebackers in the portal later this week.

Florida State defender Omar Graham is coming at some point this week according to both Rivals and On3 and one would hope that the Seminole will pull the trigger for the Huskers when he’s in Lincoln.
At the moment, it looks as though the Cornhuskers stiffest competition for Graham is the Kansas Jayhawks. The linebacker is set to see KU either later this week or next week and will have two years of eligibility remaining.
In three seasons at Florida State, Graham has logged 60 tackles, 5.5 tackles for a loss, a sack, and three passes defended. That includes a career-high 37 tackles and the sack and pass defended.
The most interesting part of Omar Graham’s visit this week is that Nebraska football doesn’t yet officially have a new defensive coordinator in place. They’re supposedly on a search for Tony White, who ironically left for FSU last week. There are some rumblings that DBs’ coach John Butler will eventually slide into the defensive coordinator role.
