The Nebraska Cornhuskers football team had a very bad Saturday night, but the Husker volleyball team continued its latest undefeated run with another dominant match. This time, they upended No. 13, Purdue.
The match on Saturday might also have been exactly what the Huskers needed, since they had won more than 24 sets in a row. The Huskers lost the second set and then regrouped to take the final two and eventually win the match 3-1 (25-13, 20-25, 25-19, 25-14). Given how soundly they defeated the Boilermakers after the second set, it's clear they lost a little focus, and that could be a bigĀ all the way to the national championship later this year.
Teraya Sigler finished with a career-high 15 kills to lead four Nebraska players with double-digit kills in the win over Purdue on Saturday at John Cook Arena at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. Nebraska (19-0, 8-0 Big Ten) hit .303 and finished with 12 blocks, holding Purdue (11-6, 4-4 Big Ten) to a .133 hitting percentage. As a team, the Huskers also tallied a season-high 64 digs.

- The NCAA DI women's volleyball committee announced its in-season top-16 rankings during Sunday's Florida vs. Texas match, and unsurprisingly, the Nebraska Cornhuskers ranked No. 1. This ranking helps determine the top four seedings in the NCAA Tournament when it rolls around. Obviously, much can happen between now and the end of the season, but this indicates where the committee is headed. Considering Nebraska is the only undefeated team in the country, it's hardly a surprise they're currently the top overall seed.
- Former Nebraska Cornhuskers basketball star Rienk Mast was officially waived by the Indiana Pacers on Sunday despite a strong preseason. It's expected that his pro career is far from over and will eventually lead to a G League offer from the organization, where he'll have a chance to prove he belongs in the NBA.
