Dylan Raiola looked like a shoo-in to start for Oregon when the Nebraska Cornhuskers visit on Saturday, though a question mark remains after an abysmal outing against UCLA. Still, for now, it looks like he's preparing to start against his old team, and he said it will be odd to be on the other sideline on Saturday night.

  • “Coach Rhule gave me a chance my first two years of college,” Raiola told the assembled media about what he's facing this week. “And nothing but love and respect for him. For two years, that was my home, and I truly feel like that. I have relationships I still have on the team.”
  • “It’s going to be weird, you know, seeing that team across, like I’m not on that team,” Raiola continued. “Next week, all that matters is winning. We expect their best."

  • Just how bad was Raiola's 6 for 19, 43 yards and 0 interceptions game against the Bruins on Saturday? According to Tom Fornelli, it was the absolute worst outing by any quarterback from any program since 2024 using the EPA per dropback statistic. Raiola's -1.20 EPAperDropBack is also quite a bit worse than No. 2 on the list.
  • Nebraska Cornhusker fans are still smarting from the team blowing a 17-6 lead to Indiana, but it's clear from Hoosiers' head coach Curt Cignetti's comments on Saturday night, that he believes NU almost had them right where they wanted them. His talk about the intestinal fortitude of his own team, rather than being angry about trailing at all, goes beyond the normal coach speak.
  • “Give Nebraska a lot of credit. Really good football team. I thought we did a nice job of regrouping at halftime. And defense gave up three points in the second half and the offense made just enough plays. It’s a great win on the road, it was hard-fought. A win like that has a lot of value.”
  • For what seems like the billionth week in a row, Big Ten officials were under the microscope for not just making mistakes but also for regularly making the wrong call on basic rules. The Nebraska Cornhuskers were victims of those issues last week, but other Big Ten teams saw issues this weekend. One has to wonder when the Big Ten will stop issuing corrections and really hold the offending referees accountable.
