Social media has been a viper's pit for years but it sure feels like things are getting worse. Don't take my word for it, things have gotten so bad on sites like Twitter (thanks in large part to the guy who renamed it X) that warnings were officially issued this week.

Andrew Ozaki of KETV 7 put out an article earlier this week talking about the bizarre stories that are floating out there. Some are overwhelmingly negative. Others are oddly positive. The end goal of all of them is to get people to click.

The most notable was at the end of 2024. Husker head coach Matt Rhule has been the subject of several posts, including one last year falsely reporting his wife Julie was pregnant. "Well, she's not pregnant," Rhule said in a Dec. 12, 2024, news conference.

"Be careful what you listen to; be careful what you read. There's usually an agenda. A lot of people make money off of the chaos around Nebraska football," Rhule said. It feels as though things are ramping up.

Nebraska Cornhuskers baseball gets massive win

The Nebraska baseball team needed a big win. They got one on Friday night with a 7-3 victory over No. 5 Oregon State.

Certainly things could go south and they could lose the series, but even one win against the Beavers, especially considering how frustrating things have been this spring, is big. It's a confidence builder. And even more important, it's a resume builder.

Prime Gets Paid

Despite losing to the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team this season, Colorado head coach Deion Sanders is now one of the most highly paid head coaches in the sport. It will certainly be interesting to see if his new five-year, $54 million deal will be worth it.
