When Oregon State takes on California on Saturday night to start their season, they'll be starting a former Nebraska Cornhuskers player on their defensive front. Kai Wallin left the Huskers this offseason and found a home with the Beavers. The decision worked out for him quite well.
OSU announced its first depth chart for Week 1 earlier this week, and Wallin is one of the starting edge rushers. He'll look to build on what was a decent start at the Huskers, though he felt like he'd get more playing time with the Pac-12 school.
Kai Wallin played in 12 games for the Nebraska Cornhuskers in 2024, making four tackles with 0.5 tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks. He recorded his first two tackles of the season against Northern Iowa. Wallin had a half sack at Purdue for his first career sack and TFL. He posted one tackle at Indiana.

More Nebraska Cornhuskers news
- Fresh off their win over the Cincinnati Bearcats, the Nebraska football team added a bit of insult to injury. One of the biggest news pieces of the game was that newly engaged Travis Kelce and pop star Taylor Swift were engaged. In a now deleted tweet, the school posted a remix of their engagement photo, showing Herbie Husker deeply in love with the singer.

- The Nebraska volleyball team kept on rolling in the early part of the Dani Busboom Kelly era. One week after they logged two big wins over Top 10 teams, the Huskers had a bit of an easier time on Friday night against Lipscomb. They swept the Bison 25-13, 25-21, 25-15 in front of a Lipscomb school-record crowd of 4,235 at Allen Arena. They'll next take on another big name as they play a match on Sunday against the Kentucky.
- The Huskers' win over the Bearcats was sealed by an interception by safety Malcolm Hartzog just a few plays after he had a costly penalty. There's a new angle of that catch that shows just how well he played the player and the ball and helped the Nebraska football team open the season 1-0.
