Just how big was the Nebraska Cornhuskers' wins over Oregon and Illinois? It looks like they were big enough that Fred Hoiberg’s squad has essentially saved their season.

When the Nebraska basketball team was in the midst of a six-game losing streak, Hoiberg’s Heroes looked like they’d be lucky to qualify for one of the second or third-tier postseason tournaments. However, the way NU has managed to turn things around has them back in the conversation with the Big Dance in a big way.

While most bracket projections still have the Nebraska Cornhuskers on the outside looking in, Projection Sports has Nebrasketball safely in the field. The Huskers aren’t even part of the Last Four In. They’re getting in thanks to a resume that looks pretty good, considering they have four wins over Top 25 teams this season.

Nebraska Cornhuskers back in the Big Dance

This projection has the Nebraska basketball team as an 11 seed. It also looks like they’ll have a tough fight on their hands, should this come to pass, in order to get their first ever NCAA Tournament win.

According to this bracket, the Huskers will take on the Louisville Cardinals. And while the ACC school has had a tough couple of years, they’ve turned things around in a big way for this season.

Louisville is currently 16-6 on the season and third in the ACC behind only Duke and Clemson.

While that’s a tough path to the second round, Nebraska Cornhuskers fans certainly have to like the idea that they’re already  back in the dance and could improve their stock from here.
