Earlier this week, the Nebraska volleyball program announced that assistant coach and legendary player Jordan Larson is no longer part of John Cook’s staff. The university has not given a specific reason why she’s left. It would appear she’s just ready to start the next chapter in her post-Nebraska career.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers volleyball team’s head coach John Cook announced the departure. He also made it clear that this is a move that has been coming for a while, but just now became official.

“Following the season, Jordan Larson informed me that she has decided to move on from being part of our coaching staff,” Cook said in a statement

“While I am disappointed we won’t have her on staff anymore, I am thankful to Jordan for all that she has done for our program over these past two seasons.”

Cook pointed out that Larson’s work has helped the Huskers go 66-5 with trips to the NCAA Final and Semifinals. However, being an assistant coach while also chasing her own Olympic dreams weren’t all that easy.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers volleyball coach added that it’s been fun to watch Jordan Larson start her LOVB Omaha career. In that regard, it’s clear that Husker fans won’t be able to see the NU legend on the bench at Devaney anymore, but they can still watch her play plenty.
