The Nebraska Cornhuskers are entering the post-House vs. NCAA settlement world knowing they’ll need to spend even more money than they did before now that revenue sharing is here. It’s not as though NU had low expenses to begin with.
In fact, according to a new report from analyst Tony Altimore, the Huskers are near the top of the Big Ten in operating expenses. According to Altimore, Nebraska is sixth in 2024 expenses with $175 million. That puts them behind Ohio State ($262 million), USC ($242 million), Michigan ($221 million), Penn State ($199 million), and Washington ($188 million).
The Nebraska Cornhuskers athletic department is well known for being self-sustaining. AD Troy Dannen needs to get creative to ensure that’s still the case in this new era.

Wasserman makes it clear he doesn’t think they’ll likely do either, but there is a chance. In Year 3 of Rhule’s … rule, lots of people think the program could take the next step and really start to look more like the old days.
