A school that has become a pipeline for the Nebraska Cornhuskers football program all of the sudden just got itself a new stadium that will make some FBS colleges jealous.
Buford High School unveiled a new $62 million football stadium earlier this year, which resembles an NFL stadium more than a high school one. The Phillip Beard Stadium itself features 10,000 seats, a 3,500-square-foot video board, 15 luxury suites, and a two-story field house. The facility cost $62 million, according to multiple media reports.
Dayton Raiola will be representing the Nebraska Cornhuskers for Buford in his senior year and will be quarterbacking the high school when they open on national television, thanks to ESPN, on August 14.
Mike Rozier named greatest to wear No. 30
Fox Sports is putting out a "who wore it best" series that details the players that are the best to ever play with every jersey number. As it turns out, the list has Mike Rozier as the best ever to wear No. 30. Considering he's arguably the best running back to ever come through Lincoln, it's hard to argue against that.
Nebraska Cornhuskers going after Colorado's top 2027 player
While there are still quite a few questions about the direction of the Nebraska football recruiting class for 2027, the Huskers have their quarterback. Now they're hoping to pull in some protection for Trae Taylor in the form of Reis Russell.
At a still growing 6-foot-3 and 290 pounds, Russell projects best as a center at the next level. He has extensive experience playing the position at Valor Christian, the alma mater of former Washington star Roger Rosengarten. It's almost a sure thing that Rosengarten will be used liberally to try to entice Russell to follow his path to the West Coast.
