As the Nebraska football team starts its fall camp, it's time for Husker fans to remember the legends that came before them. When talking about the great legends of the game, people's minds often wander over to the Cornhuskers' running backs. One of the best to ever play the position is Mike Rozier. As it turns out, Fox Sports also believes he's the most outstanding player in all of college football to wear the number 30.
Fox is doing a series this summer called "who wore it best" that names the players who were the best of every number, from 0 all the way up to 99. One Husker legend already talked about in this series is Ndamukong Suh, who was named the best to ever wear No. 93 in all of college football.
Fox Sports’ ranking that crowns Mike Rozier the greatest No. 30 in college football
Fox Sports has decided that Nebraska football running back Mike Rozier is the best ever to wear No. 30 throughout all the years of the college football world.
"Nebraska is known for its rich football history, and Rozier is widely considered one of the best to ever don a Huskers jersey. To this day, Rozier remains Nebraska’s all-time leading rusher after totaling more than 4,700 rushing yards and 49 rushing touchdowns from 1981-83. During his senior season, Rozier led the nation in rushing with 2,148 yards and won the 1983 Heisman Trophy in a landslide."
Even with all the great running backs that have come through the Nebraska football program, Rozier still stands out for his stats and the feats he pulled off in the 1983 season. He's truly one of the best to ever play the game.
