The Nebraska Cornhuskers baseball team is more than just struggling. It’s already reached a point in the season where we’re talking about players being frustrated.

And while it’s still early, the Huskers have started Big Ten play. And they’ve started Big Ten about as poorly as possible.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers baseball team opened the conference season with a double header against a Washington Huskies squad that was predicted  to finish dead last in the BIG. NU lose the first game 11-5 and followed that up with a 6-3 defeat and after the game it was clear that tensions are starting to get high for the 4-8 squad.

Nebraska Cornhuskers baseball team has reached frustration level

“The game of baseball right now is very frustrating for this group,” outfielder Cayden Brumbaugh said after losing both sides of the doubleheader. “We’ve got to turn it around — we know that. We have to be better.”

“Definitely the leaders on this team need to step up a little bit,” pitcher Will Walsh said. “Obviously the first fourth of this year hasn’t really gone as planned. We’ve really just got to take the reins of this team and make this year not slip away from us. Show up (Sunday) ready to go.”

“We’re not playing well together,” head coach Will Bolt said. “At all. Baseball boils down to timely hitting, pitching and defense and we haven’t really done a whole lot of that together.”

The Nebraska Cornhuskers baseball team will try and get back on track (and avoid getting swept) on Sunday. And then hope that they can take that win and build on it into next week.
