With the All-Big Ten Teams, along with several other honors, announced on Tuesday morning, the Nebraska basketball team cleaned up. However, one aspect that stands out is that the conference coaches had more respect for the Huskers and what they accomplished this season.

On that note, the Big Ten Network went out of its way to stop fans from taking too many shots at the media or the coaches for their picks, announcing the two votes as one list each.

However, this led to a rather odd situation where Nebraska had Pryce Sandfort honored as being on the First Team All-Big Ten and Second Team All-Big Ten teams.

The Big Ten media clearly liked Michigan quite a bit more than any other team. And despite the Huskers finishing second in the league, those same media members weren't all that impressed by anyone from NU.

Media First Team All-Big Ten

  • Keaton Wagler, Illinois
  • Bennett Stirtz, Iowa
  • Yaxel Lendeborg, Michigan
  • Jeremy Fears Jr., Michigan State
  • Brade Smith, Purdue

Media Second Team All-Big Ten

  • Morez Johnson Jr., Michigan
  • Pryce Sandfort, Nebraska
  • Nick Martinelli, Northwestern
  • Bruce Thornton, Ohio State
  • Nick Boyd, Wisconsin

Media Third Team All-Big Ten

  • Lamar Wilkerson, Indiana
  • Aday Mara, Michigan
  • Tyler Bilodeau, UCLA
  • Hannes Steinbach, Washington
  • John Blackwell, Wisconsin

For those keeping score at home, Michigan, which won the conference, had representation on all three teams. Nebraska, which finished second, had one player. Sam Hoiberg and Rienk Mast did make honorable mention, but it still feels like the media doesn't have much respect for Husker players.

Add in that Lendeborg won Player of the Year, and Dusty May was awarded Coach of the Year from the media. The Wolverines took home the most honors from the media, going away.

The good news is that the Big Ten coaches understood just how good Nebraska was this year, as the Huskers tied the school record for most wins in a season.

From the coaches, Sandfort was bumped up to First Team All-Big Ten, and Mast and Hoiberg were still just honorable mention; however, Braden Frager was named to the All-Freshman team and named the 6th Man of the Year. Hoiberg was also named to the Big Ten All-Defensive Team.

Finally, the Big Ten coaches seemed to understand that a Nebraska team that was picked to finish in the bottom half of the league made an impressive jump, and they selected Fred Hoiberg as the Coach of the Year.
