Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule has certainly made some solid moves in the Transfer Portal, helping out key areas that the Cornhuskers needed to boost for the 2026 season. However, after a short break, the coaching staff would love to add at least one or two more players from the portal before wrapping it up until spring ball.

Right now, Nebraska only has one official visit on the books, and that is former Boston College defensive lineman Owen Stoudmire. With only one year of eligibility left, Stoudmire would bring a lot of experience and a veteran presence to the defensive line, something this defense needs after the 2025 season.

Nebraska could round out the 2026 Transfer Portal class with DL Owen Stoudmire

The Ohio native played all five seasons of his collegiate football career with Boston College, but put out a post announcing he would enter the transfer portal on Thursday, saying he is ready for a new home.

Stoudmire's big 6-foot-1 and 292-pound frame is something that is very intriguing to everyone at Nebraska, and his veteran presence would also bring a lot to a line that struggled to get stops last season. He appeared in 35 games over five seasons and earned five starts with the Eagles.

Throughout his career at Boston College, Stoudmire had 52 total tackles, 18 solo tackles, and 2.5 sacks. His best season came in 2024, when he gained the majority of those stats. The 2025 season was meant to be his biggest one yet, but injuries kept him off the field and allowed him to use his medical redshirt for another year of eligibility.

Stoudmire would most likely be the final player Rhule adds from the Transfer Portal for the 2026 cycle, as there are no other official visits on the books in Lincoln. Stoudmire was set to be on campus as early as January 14, so a decision could be coming soon.
