The Nebraska football team has its quarterback of the immediate future in class of 2026 commit Dayton Raiola. They also have their quarterback of the next generation in 2027, commit Trae Taylor. And now Matt Rhule, Glenn Thomas and company have zeroed in on their quarterback of the distant future in Hunter Fujikawa.
Fujikawa earned a scholarship offer over the weekend after coming to Lincoln for a camp that saw plenty of future prospects loving what they saw from what Rhule and company have to offer. While he’s still a long way off from being able to play for a college team, it’s clear that he’s someone plenty of colleges see as someone who has the value of getting their feet in the door.
Hawaii phenom Hunter Fujikawa lands Nebraska offer after matching Trae Taylor’s camp consistency
In addition to a recent offer from the Nebraska football team, the Hawaii native is already being pursued by California, Hawaii, San Jose State, UNLV, Boston College, Arizona, and Utah. More power conference teams are going to come calling soon.

Rivals recruiting analyst Tim Verghese shared a little bit about what his site saw in the 2028 quarterback prospect. Fujikawa is raising eyebrows among analysts and coaching staff who see the Honolulu native up close and personal.
“Fujikawa drew praise from the staff with his performance on Sunday. If any quarterback in attendance kept up with Taylor’s consistency on the day, it was the rising sophomore from Hawaii.”
Vergehese added that Fujikawa had not received an offer at the time. That has since been rectified.
Just how good the 6-foot-2, 200-pound quarterback looks when schools see him is evident from the many offers he’s received in a short period of time. Nebraska football, Boston College, and Arizona all offered him in the last week.
