With two years of experience as the starting quarterback at a Power Conference program, most people would assume that former Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola would start for whichever team he landed on.
However, recent reports have shared that Raiola is considering a school that could easily land him on the bench, for at least a few games, if not all of next season: the Oregon Ducks.
The Ducks are fresh off a beatdown by the Indiana Hoosiers in the College Football Playoff semifinal, and Oregon quarterback Dante Moore had a nightmare performance. With Moore's mistakes in the semifinal matchup, he quickly saw himself plummeting down NFL mock Drafts.
Dylan Raiola could be at Oregon with Dante Moore
Without the probability, which was almost a certainty before the rematch against Indiana, of being a first-round Draft pick, many people are already leaning toward Moore staying at Oregon for at least another season.
So, Raiola could easily find himself as QB2 for Oregon head coach Dan Lanning, despite his proven success for the Cornhuskers. Well, that doesn't seem to matter all that much, as reports have come out that Raiola is still considering the Ducks, even if Moore stays.
This would line up Riaola to become the starter in 2027, after Moore theoretically leaves following his redshirt junior season for Oregon.
Comparing Dylan Raiola and Dante Moore
The two quarterbacks were the "chosen ones" to start at quarterback for their teams before the 2025 season was truly in focus. While Raiola's ended in a devastating injury, he was still able to put up impressive numbers.
Dylan Raiola 2025 season stats
- 9 games (6-3 record)
- 181 completions (72.4 percent)
- 2,000 passing yards
- 18 passing touchdowns
- 6 interceptions
- -87 rushing yards (includes yards lost on 27 sacks)
- 0 rushing touchdowns
Dante Moore 2025 season stats
- 15 games (13-2 record)
- 296 completions (71.8 percent)
- 3,565 passing yards
- 30 passing touchdowns
- 10 interceptions
- 156 rushing yards (includes yards lost on 17 sacks)
- 2 rushing touchdowns
The biggest difference in the two quarterbacks' seasons, other than the fact that Moore played in six more games than Raiola, was the fact that the Oregon QB was able to run for more than 150 yards and tack on two extra touchdowns on the ground.
Meanwhile, Raiola was sacked 10 more times than Moore, and lost 87 yards on the ground, never finding the end zone with his legs.
Despite Moore's clear leg up (get it?) as a better dual-threat quarterback and his experience in Lanning's program, Raiola is still considering transferring to the Ducks from Nebraska to virtually become Moore's understudy for at least one year.
