Deshon Singleton's time at Nebraska has been interesting, especially when there was a question if he would even be on the 2025 roster. However, after a court ruling that reconsidered Junior College years for eligibility, Singleton was able to return this season, and he has been a huge help to Nebraska's secondary.

Singleton's performance against Michigan State was his best this season, so good that it earned him Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week. With his six tackles and two interceptions, Singleton turned in his best game of the season and the best game of anyone on the Cornhuskers' defense in the comeback win against the Spartans.

Head coach Matt Rhule was very happy with Singleton's performance as well, giving him a shoutout in his post-game press conference.

This game so far has only capped off what has been a big season for the senior, who has already recorded 23 total tackles, a fumble recovery, a pass deflection, and now two interceptions. Singleton has been great for this Nebraska defense, which has had its struggles at points this season.

With the rest of the season coming fast and tough opponents on the schedule, the Nebraska defense will need to be at the top of its game. Even though Penn State has lost two games in a row and dropped out of the rankings this week, they are still a team that could easily find its way back in and make it hard on Nebraska at the end of the season.

Singleton has to be the leader for the Nebraska secondary and continue to play the way he is if the Cornhuskers want to keep winning games, or even have comebacks like they did against Michigan State.
