The Nebraska football team's wide receiver corps could be getting another boost in the very near future if a recent Demitrius Bell social post is anything to go by.
The Huskers have been waiting for Bell's return since he suffered a knee injury in the 2024 spring game. There was talk that he might be ready not long into the 2025 season, but so far, he's continued to be listed on the team's injury report as "out," and there haven't been many updates on his status.
Nebraska wide receiver Demitrius Bell hints at immanent return
In one recent post, Bell teased his return. On his Instagram account, he posted a comment, "im bac soon we finto rock ts." For those not sure what the end of that message was, he's fired up and believes he'll rock "this sh---."
The Huskers know that when Bell can finally suit up for the team, he could offer another powerful option at the wide receiver position. That's already a unit that has performed marvelously.
So far, Bell's career has been all about sitting and waiting. Bell was a two-way standout for McGavock High School in Nashville. He starred in the secondary and at wide receiver, where he was regarded as one of the nation’s top prospects. Bell led McGavock with 702 receiving yards and eight touchdowns as a senior.
He also rushed for 274 yards and two touchdowns and was 5-of-8 passing for 169 yards and two scores. On defense, Bell recorded 17 tackles to help the Raiders to a state playoff appearance. As a junior, Bell caught 35 passes for 498 yards and seven touchdowns. He also played basketball for McGavock.
Now the Nebraska football team is sitting and waiting for Demitrius Bell to come back. Hopefully, he's right and it will be soon.
