Could a Dylan Raiola workout quietly open the door to Nebraska QB interest?

This recruit isn't on Nebraska's radar right now, but after a workout with Dylan Raiola, he quickly could be.

Nebraska already has its biggest 2027 quarterback recruit with 4-star recruit Trae Taylor committing to the Cornhuskers back in early May. However, they could have some interest in a new quarterback who has ties to Dylan Raiola.

Raiola spent some time this summer with another 2027 quarterback prospect, Jabin Gonzales. Raiola did some workouts with Gonzales, and it seemed like the two formed a connection with Raiola sharing some of his knowledge and advice.

Gonzales took to social media to thank Raiola for his time and his advice, and it has people wondering if Nebraska could now take a look a the 2027 recruit. Currently, Gonzales is not rated according to 247Sports and does not have an offer from Nebraska. Most of his offers have come from Group of Five schools, but he has received some interest from big programs like Indiana and Notre Dame.

While this workout could ultimately have just been a seasoned college quarterback helping out a young recruit, it does raise some questions.

Matt Rhule has made time for the Class of 2027

Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule has been busy on he recruiting trail, especially as of late, with some big commitments in the last few weeks. However, he isn't only focusing on the Class of 2026; he is also showing the Class of 2027 some love as well.

The biggest sign of that is Taylor giving his commitment to the Cornhuskers early in May as a 2027 prospect. Taylor is a 4-star quarterback and was the first and only commit so far in the Class of 2027 for Nebraska, but he is a key one at that.

Taylor has been out there in public speaking very highly of the Cornhuskers and their program, and has shown love to the 2026 commits. A guy like Taylor is a dream recruit, someone who will help bring other top-tier guys into the building.
