Britt Prince might be just a freshman, but she’s already made her presence known to Nebraska Cornhuskers fans plenty of times this season. She did it again on Thursday night, as she posted a big fourth quarter that allowed her team to rally and avoid an upset to one of the worst teams in the Big Ten.

The Nebraska women’s basketball team was fresh off seeing their five game winning streak snapped. Amy Williams’ squad needed to bounce back with a win to firmly get back on track towards another NCAA Tournament appearance.

However, the Nebraska Cornhuskers came dangerously close to falling into a tailspin, as they took on the Purdue Boilermakers. They seemed sluggish and shaky at times but in the end, the freshman star decided she wasn’t going to have it. Britt Prince put the team on her back in the fourth quarter and her team got back to their winning ways.

For the game, Prince was impressive enough. She led the Nebraska women’s basketball team in scoring with 23 (five more than Alexis Markowski’s 18) but it was what she did in the fourth quarter that once again showed just how good the player is going to be for both the rest of this year and in the future.

Britt Prince scored the Nebraska Cornhuskers’ final nine points of the game to seal the victory. Those nine points included two free throws with three seconds left that gave NU it’s final six-point edge and put the game away, once and for all.
