Brice Williams didn't waste much time showing G League audiences what Nebraska basketball fans already know. The guard can score in bunches, and he can score in a flash.
After finding his way to the Detroit Pistons organization following this spring's NBA Draft, Williams is having to prove himself again. However, it only took three games until he really started showing that proof. Earlier this week, the former Husker guard exploded for 41 points in just his third outing for the G League Motor City Cruise.
The former Nebraska star hit 14 of 20 shots to score those 41 points; he was also 6 for 9 from beyond the arc. Perhaps most impressively, Williams wasn't a one-dimensional player. He also hauled down 4 rebounds and dished out 3 assists.

Former Nebraska basketball star's G League breakout could force an NBA decision
Williams is starting to find his footing after a rough start to the rookie season. Sunday's outing was a massive turnaround from the game before, where he hit just 3 of 16 shots. He did still give the Cruise some value in that game, as he had 6 assists.
On the season, the former Husker is averaging 25.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.
If Brice Williams can build on his breakout game, the Detroit Pistons might decide he's worth a call-up to the NBA. Clearly, the organization sees something worth keeping around. He'll just need to show that he can be someone who hits the majority of his shots.
For now, the former Nebraska basketball star is teasing people with what could be an excellent season.
