It's done. It's finally over. The eight year wait for a bowl game has ended for the Nebraska football team. And it ended against a team that has been an insane thorn in the side of the Huskers since they joined the Big Ten.
The Huskers are going bowling for the first time since the 2016 season. They get to shrug off the stigma of being the only Power 5 team around to miss the postseason this season and they get to shrug it off with a three score win over one of the historical powers of the conference.
Yes, Wisconsin is struggling this year. But Nebraska football has been struggling for a decade. And at least for today, those struggles are over. The Huskers sit at 6-5 with one more game to go in a season that has had some serious ups and downs.

There was the 5-1 start to the campaign thanks in part to a big win over the hated Colorado Buffaloes. There was the close game against Illinois.
There was the trouncing by Indiana. There was the disappointing loss to UCLA. There was the near upset of Ohio State. And that's not even counting all the close games and heartbreak over the last near decade.
The drought is over. The celebrations are going to last long into the night. They might even continue into the week. There's something to be thanful for come Thursday for sure. Nebraska football got it done. Finally. GO BIG RED.
