Just weeks away from the Nebraska football fall camp officially kicking off, there are more national analysts than ever trying to make heads or tails of the Huskers. While there are noticeable question marks surrounding NU, one consensus bright spot is quarterback Dylan Raiola, who was just recently put in some elite company.

Earlier this week, Big Ten Network's Adam Breneman ranked his top five Big Ten quarterbacks for the 2025 season. Nebraska fans should be pretty happy that Breneman has Raiola coming in. It shows that he sophomore, who needed to take some steps up after his freshman season, is expected to do just that.

Dylan Raiola lands No. 4 spot on Big Ten Network quarterback list

According to Breneman, Nebraska football quarterback Dylan Raiola came in at number four on his power ranking list. It's important to remember that he's fourth among 18 starting quarterbacks. No small feat for a conference that had some of the best QBs in the country last year.

"Flashes of brilliance every weekend," Breneman said about the sophomore signal-caller. "You could see the raw talent. We're going to see an even more complete player, and the schedule in 2025 will lead to even more wins."

The three quarterbacks ahead of Raiola were Illinois' Luke Altmeyer, Oregon’s Dante Moore, and Penn State's Drew Allar.

Moore is relatively untested, throwing just 8 passes last season. Still, he showed enough flashes in 2023 when he was with UCLA to impress people, especially spearheading a plug-and-play type offense for the Ducks.

Altmyer struggled in his first season at Illinois but put it all together last year, throwing for 2,717 yards, 22 touchdowns, and just 6 INTs. Allar is expected to lead his Nittany Lions deep into the playoffs after throwing 49 touchdowns and just 10 interceptions the last two seasons. The Penn State quarterback is the only one of the three Raiola will face off against, head-to-head, in 2025.

The Nebraska football quarterback will look to prove analysts like Breneman right as he tries to improve on his freshman season, where he threw for 2,819 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.
