Nebraska has seemed to hit the jackpot, landing UNLV transfer Anthony Colandrea from the transfer portal. Both coaches and players in the Huskers program are raving about how Colandrea has done so far in spring ball, but a recent story the transfer QB shared proves he was meant to be in Lincoln.

During media availability, Colandrea shared a story about how, about three weeks before he was set to play in the bowl game with UNLV, he made a mistake that ended up being so right in the end.

Colandrea was buying Christmas presents for his family and accidentally ordered a Nebraska shirt. He didn't know how he did it, but then, when they opened the package to see the mistake, Matt Rhule had actually texted Colandrea about coming to Nebraska.

Well, it seems like that mistake ended up working out for Colandrea, and he didn't lose out on any money because he decided to enter the transfer portal after the bowl game and chose Nebraska.

Anthony Colandrea is building relationships at Nebraska

Transferring to a team in the middle of a college career can be hard, but Anthony Colandrea has three keys to making the transition smooth. First, he learns all of his teammates' names, next he learns the entire playbook, and finally, he comes up with handshakes with all of his teammates.

That is right, every teammate, Colandrea is making up a handshake with them, and during his media availability, he is just about done, but still has a few guys to go. It is clear that Colandrea enjoys being in Lincoln, and he has his sights set on a successful time with the Huskers.

Players like Jacory Barney and coaches like Dana Holgorsen have both sung the praises of Colandrea since the transfer to Nebraska, but there is still a lot of time left before the 2026 season. Colandrea will have to win the battle against TJ Lateef, who has the advantage of being at Nebraska before this season.
