While Ceyair Wright basically has one starting corner locked down, another Nebraska football transfer is working to lock down the other spot. Andrew Marshall, who spent the 2024 season playing for the Idaho Vandals, makes the jump to FBS this year and wants to impress all onlookers in his first season in Lincoln.

"The way we're set up this year, I know everybody's talking about Coach Rhule, his third year, how everything is major third year, I just think as far as me coming in and making an effect on the defense, everything was just aligned," Marshall said earlier this week.

Now looking to start for the Nebraska football team, Marshall believes that he can make the jump to the next level without any real problems. He thinks he can show everyone what he already knows, that he's someone who can hang in the Big Ten. "It really confirmed what I already believed," Marshall added about joining the Huskers. "Just that I was ready for that level of competition. The game wasn't bigger than me, really. I can compete at that level, a high level … I think for me it was just a constant chip on my shoulder just that I belonged here in the first place. And now I'm at that level and I'm here to prove what I already know is true."

Marshall was one of the key additions from the transfer portal this winter. He came to Nebraska on December 25, transferring with two seasons of eligibility remaining.

A star player at Idaho, the versatile corner played in 26 games, starting 14 of them. He totaled 72 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, eight pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery during that time.

The 2024 season saw him produce at a high level. He recorded 50 tackles, one tackle for loss, three pass breakups, and a forced fumble and recovery. Now he's working hard to make a starting position for the Nebraska football team and impressing coaches, teammates, and fans along the way.
