Now that the Brian Kelly era at LSU is over, Matt Rhule is wasting no time taking advantage for Nebraska as the school is set to host Ahmad Hudson this weekend.
Hudson is the No. 1-ranked tight end in the 2027 class and the No. 7 player overall according to 247Sports. The Ruston, Louisiana, prospect had seemed to be destined to be a Bayou Bengal, and then the Tigers changed their head coach.
While Nebraska is far from the only power school going after Hudson, it's worth pointing out that the tight end prospect seems relatively high on the Huskers. In announcing he's visiting Lincoln on Saturday, he added that he's been waiting a long time to get this visit done.

The 2027 top prospect is a super-sized tight end with a rare blend of frame and athleticism, making him a matchup nightmare at every level of the passing game. He stretches the field vertically and thrives in short-to-intermediate zones, showing instinctive ball skills, late-adjustment ability, and elite body control.
With experience lining up as a receiver, in-line tight end, and H-back, Hudson brings the kind of versatility Nebraska coaches love. He's not just an offensive weapon who can catch a pass, but he's rated highly as a blocker with immense upside. Widely regarded as one of the premier pass-catching threats in the 2027 class, he projects as a future college impact player with long-term NFL potential.
With schools like Alabama, Florida State, and Baylor, among others, the fight for Ahmad Hudson is far from over. But the Nebraska football team takes a big step on Saturday when it plays USC in the Black Out.
