Nebraska is currently high up on the list for 3-star tight end Luke Sorensen, who had an official visit to Lincoln about two weeks ago. However, the Cornhuskers were battling Big Ten rival Penn State for the highly-ranked prospect, but that all could be changing.
The young tight end has cancelled his official visit to Penn State after being crystal-balled to land with the Nittany Lions last month. After his visit to Lincoln, Sorensen was then predicted to land with the Cornhuskers, and with the cancellation of his visit to College Station, things are really looking good for Nebraska.
As reported by Tim Verghese on Rivals, Sorensen is down to Nebraska and Ole Miss as his top two schools, with Nebraska leading the way. Verghese also reported that Sorensen cancelled his trip to Penn State.
Sorensen's commitment would be the sixth overall commitment for the Class of 2026 and the first tight end commitment of the class as well.
Luke Sorensen had solid visit to Lincoln during official visit weekend
Luke Sorensen had his official visit at Nebraska back on June 5 and worked out with the coaches and staff while in Lincoln. Sorensen is the No. 34 player in the state of California and the No. 19 tight end according to Rivals rankings.
Sorensen would be a great addition to Nebraska's air-raid offense led by Dana Holgorsen and Dylan Raiola. The young tight end would be a solid size, coming in at 6-foot-4 and 245 pounds out of Anaheim, California.

It seems Nebraska's biggest competition right now is Ole Miss, which may be able to offer a better NIL package, but the Cornhuskers seem to have made a good impression on the young tight end. Sorensen is predicted to announce his commitment later this month on June 20, which was supposed to be after his official visit to Penn State, so maybe an announcement could come sooner than later.
