The Nebraska football entered the season hoping that if everything went right, they might be darkhorse college football playoff contenders. Any chance of that was dashed, but good in the blowout loss to Indiana this weekend.

Interestingly enough, the Huskers also might have helped the Hoosiers get a chance at the playoffs. If there are four teams going to the postseason. At the moment, I think Indiana just misses it, thanks in large part to IU losing it's starting quarterback in the same game they got a big win.

The Nebraska football team is nothing more than a spoiler at this point. Though considering they're more than 20-point underdogs this weekend against Ohio State, it seems unlikely they're going to play colllege football playoffs spoilers, but if they can pull an upset, they would definitely be a spoiler.

For now, I still see Ohio State, Penn State and Oregon being the three teams from the Big Ten making the college football playoffs. There won't be a fourth for now. Though there is a chance for some of those SEC teams to drop out.

For now, the College Football Playoffs are looking pretty damn interesting. The could get even more interesting as the season goes on. There's a lot of football left. The Nebraska football team isn't going to make the dance. Even if they somehow win the rest of their games, they almost certainly aren't getting in after last weekend. But that doesn't mean there won't be plenty of interesting things to see.
