Desmond Howard beclowns himself in unprecedented Nebraska Football hypocrisy

Nebraska Football fans and media were more than a little taken aback as Desmond Howard spewed hypocritic nonsense about Michigan.

Desmond Howard has never been Nebraska Football fans’ favorite announcer. But his recent comments about the Michigan Football scandal and how the Wolverines should be treated drew a new level of ire among Husker faithful and really, anyone with common sense and the ability to recognize hypocrisy when it slaps them in the face.

It all started when Desmond Howard appeared on ESPN’s Get Up and addressed the Michigan sign stealing/scouting/cheating scandal. In short, Howard believes that people really need to cut Jim Harbaugh and his team some slack. After all, they’re the real victims here.

“It’s still an allegation and there’s information coming out every week,” Howard said. “I listened to a broadcast yesterday that said the coaches wanted the commissioner of the Big Ten to take immediate action and they wondered what he was waiting for.”

“My question is,” Howard continued. “Well, if this was your program that these charges were made against, these allegations were made against, would you want the commissioner to skip due process and let the NCAA do their job? Or would you want to give your program a chance to go through all of the information, all of the facts, and then defend themselves? I don’t understand the rush to judgment by some of the coaches in the conference. If the tables were turned? They would never want anybody to rush to judgment.”

It wasn’t just Nebraska Football fans who thought Howard’s comments were ridiculous, but Husker fans pointed out the hypocrisy of those words considering that the ESPN analyst had no problem rushing to judgement back in 2020.

When Nebraska Football coaches and players made it clear they wanted to play a season despite the covid pandemic possibly shutting the Big Ten down, Howard advocated kicking the Huskers out of the Big Ten.

Other Nebraska Football fans had similar distaste for Howard’s hypocrisy.

“Why are we surprised that @DesmondHoward is a hypocrite with a blind spot for his alma mater? If you’re disappointed with him, stop watching the show he is on,” wrote SI.com columnist Dave Feit.

Still others pointed out that it appears Michigan is the only school that gets Howard’s benefit of the doubt.

Nebraska Football fans have had a problem with Desmond Howard for a while now. It appears this particular feud isn’t going anywhere. Especially if the analyst keeps opening his yap and saying silly, hypocritical things.
