The Nebraska football team didn’t have a ton of fun on Saturday. The same can’t be said for Michigan quarterback JJ McCarthy.

In fact, McCarthy was having plenty of fun when he was going up against the Nebraska football team and when he was just standing on the sidelines watching his backups continue to trash the Huskers.

The Michigan quarterback had so much fun that he even decided to bring his girlfriend into the mix. Fox cameras spotted McCarthy on the sidelines locking lips with his girlfriend and high school sweetheart, Katya.

While it’s certainly sweet that McCarthy was able to show some affecting once his day was done, it seems unlikely that’s going to sit all that well with Nebraska football faithful.

The Huskers, after all, came into the game with quite a few fans wondering if they might not be able to show that a Blackshirts defense that was among the best in the country against the run could bow up and hold the Wolverines down.

They in fact, did not bow up. At any point. Not right from the beginning of the game when McCarthy threw an absolute dart to take a 7-0 lead that was caught by the receiving pinning the ball against Luke Gifford’s helmet.

Nebraska football’s Memorial Stadium saw some PDA

For his part, it’s hard to fault McCarthy for wanting to celebrate his performance on Saturday. McCarthy threw just four incompletions all day, hitting 12-of-16 passes for 156 yards and two touchdowns. He also carried the ball twice for 30 yards and another score.

While those numbers are far from eye-popping, he exited the game fairly early. Michigan also did against Nebraska football what it does best. It spread the ball around so much that no one put up huge numbers, and yet somehow the final score was 45-7.
