Nebraska Cornhuskers News: Matt Rhule wasn’t disrespecting, Trey Palmer goes off
Nebraska Cornhuskers head coach Matt Rhule was adamant on Monday that he had not disrespected the Colorado Buffaloes in any way on Saturday or before.
Adding insult to injury to Nebraska football’s loss on Saturday to Colorado was the comments Buffaloes players made after the game. Several of them echoed the same comments head coach Deion Sanders had made leading up to the game. That things were “personal.”
Quarterback Shedeur Sanders made some comments about the way Matt Rhule and his Huskers acted just ahead of the game. Apparently, some were standing on the CU logo at midfield.
After Rhule was asked about the situation on Monday, Rhule made it clear they weren’t at midfield for any sort of antagonistic behavior.
While this is still a situation of “he-said, he-said,” it never seemed to make much sense that Rhule would take the Nebraska Cornhuskers to the field looking to anger Colorado. That just doesn’t seem to be his M.O. And considering that the Buffaloes repeatedly made things up about what Rhule had said earlier in the season, one side seems a bit more believable than the other.
Trey Palmer catches touchdown in first NFL game
There was a time when it looked like Trey Palmer might not even get selected in the 2023 NFL draft. Then he played extremely well in the preseason.
On Sunday, the former Nebraska football record-setter showed off his talents.
Palmer caught a touchdown in hist first regular season game in the NFL. It just so happens that touchdown allowed the Tampa Bay Bucs to beat the Minnesota Vikings in their season opener.
It’s not like Palmer went off. He had just two catches for 8 yards. But he also had that touchdown. It certainly appears as though the former Nebraska Cornhuskers star is going to be given a chance to be a difference-maker in the NFL.
