The Nebraska football team seems to have its top quarterback target square in its sights and now he’s coming for an official visit.

There was a time when a completely different kid seemed like he was the top Nebraska football target at the quarterback position in the 2025 class. Then Stone Saunders committed elsewhere and Matt Rhule and company pivoted.

Sound familiar?

One of the really nice things to see about the Matt Rhule recruiting effort is how easily it pivots. That includes a pivot to Iowa quarterback prospect Alex Manske.

Manske has gone from a relatively under the radar quarterback prospect to one that the Nebraska football team’s recruiting efforts seem to be going all in on. That includes getting Manske in for an official visit. That visit date has now been set and the quarterback, who also happens to be a high priority target of the Iowa Hawkeyes, will be in Lincoln on September 16. He’ll see the Huskers take on Northern Illinois.

The trip to Memorial Stadium next month is hardly the first time he’s been to Lincoln. In fact, the Nebraska football team has made seeing Alex Manske in person a habit.

Nebraska football looking to close the deal on Alex Manske

The 3-star prospect out of Algona, Iowa is going to have a busy couple of months. Before he comes to Lincoln he’ll check out the Iowa State-Iowa game. Later in September he’ll check out the Minnesota Golden Gophers.

Then in October he’s visiting Purdue. It’s possible he’ll check out what Kansas State has to offer as well. Though a date for that visit hasn’t been set yet.

What’s clear is that Nebraska football needs to keep up the pressure on the signal caller. It’s very clear Nebraska football is in pretty good standing with Alex Manske, but there’s still quite a bit of work to do to nail him down.
