Nebraska football recruiting is looking far and wide for a future Husker as they’ve offered Sweden’s Valdin Sone to be a member of the offensive line.

While the Huskers prepare for the season opener against Minnesota, they’re certainly not  ignoring preparing for future teams as well. That includes a new Nebraska football offer to a player that is certainly under the radar.

Valdin Sone is someone who is under the radar for a couple of different reasons. Right at the top of the list is that he’s now part of the 2027 Nebraska football recruiting class.

Someone who won’t be able to set foot on campus until 2028 isn’t going to be getting a ton of attention yet. However that might change in the next few days.

The Nebraska football team has been a bit of a trend setter when it comes to offers. Caleb Pyfrom got his first FBS offer from Matt Rhule and company. He eventually got plenty of big schools coming calling.

It didn’t really work for the Cornhuskers when it came to the Omaha Central offensive lineman. Pyfrom eventually picked Illinois. The coaching staff is clearly hoping they can get their foot in the door for this Swedish offensive lineman.

Valdin Sone seems like a name that is going to be getting more attention as the weeks and months go on. He’s already standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing in at 250 pounds. He’s got plenty of time to grow.

That he’s five years away from ever setting foot on campus is already has that kind of size is obviously a big reason why the Huskers have given him an offer.

It’s ways hard to judge in any real way how an offer this far in advance is going to shake out. It always feels a bit performative. But at least Nebraska football has their foot in the door for the Malmo prospect.
