The Nebraska football team issued a new scholarship offer to a 2025 offensive line target and this particular target is Iowa’s top target.

Nick Brooks is a rising 2025 prospect that is currently considered a 4-star offensive lineman. He also happens to be the top prospect in the state of Iowa in his class. Having had some success in the state since Matt Rhule took over Nebraska football, it appears they’re going to keep trying to plumb talent from the Iowa Hawkeyes’ backyard.

Brooks was in Lincoln for Nebraska football’s big recruiting push just ahead of fall camps. It appears that as he left, the Huskers’ coaching staff decided he was more than worthy of getting an official scholarship offer.

The offer is the latest big-time offensive line prospect that Matt Rhule and company have put the full-court press on. There’s just an added bonus that if they were able to land him, it would mean pulling him out of the clutches of a conference rival.

The 6-foot-8 offensive lineman is one of the best offensive line prospects in the 2025 no matter which recruiting service you talk to. Rivals has him as the 126th best prospect in the class and the 12 best o-lineman. 247Sports actually has him inside the Top 100 players at number 90 and On3 has him as the 146th best.

Nebraska football trying to steal from Iowa

All three recruiting services currently have the Iowa Hawkeyes as the team that is very much in the lead for the services of Nick Brooks. They are not anywhere near the only team to come calling though. It also appears that the Nebraska football team will have some time to make some noise and try and lure the big offensive lineman away from his home state.

He’s far from the only Iowa prospect that the Huskers have pursued recently. They’re clearly hoping to establish a pipeline in the neighboring state. We’ll see how successful they become in the next few years.
