Ex-Nebraska footballer Alante Brown could join forces with Coach Prime. Nebraska Cornhuskers volleyball started a new era. That and more in today’s news.

While there’s been more attention paid to Casey Thompson entering the transfer portal, Alante Brown could be a very nice pickup for some team in the very near future. The question is just what team that will end up being.

Brown has been announcing the teams that have given him offers regularly, though he’s not announced when he’s picking. For those like myself who really, really dislike the sideshow that is Coach Prime and Colorado, the Buffaloes are one team that would annoy me should Brown pick them.

At the same time, his recent offer from them might be too good to pass up. Should Brown pick the Buffs, he’d be joining a school that is in flux when it comes to their wide receiver room and he could certainly compete for a starting spot.

He might also enjoy the fact that he’d get to go up against his old Nebraska football mates early on in his new career. The Huskers and Buffaloes will face off in Week 2.

Nebraska Volleyball begins a new era

While there’s been more attention to paid to Nebraska football spring practice, the Nebraska Volleyball team is also winding up its spring season. John Cook’s crew did so in an exhibition match against Wichita State.

The Huskers ended up winning the match but that was less important than seeing once again just how popular the team is among Nebraska Cornhuskers fans. The game took place in Central City and sold out. A little preview of Volleyball Day in Nebraska.
