Big Ten spring football is wrapping up for everyone with their spring games. Find out when your favorite team is playing.

One of the most exciting things about spring practice around the Big Ten and in college football is that while there is an outline of when teams need to practice and hold their spring game, there isn’t any hard and fast rule. That led to different teams starting spring practice earlier or later in the spring. One thing that does seem to be consistent across the board is that teams are wrapping up their spring practice season with one big final scrimmage.

The fact that schedules vary so much is actually a bit of a treat for Big Ten football fans. It means that those who are hungry and desperate to watch some football, even if its glorified practice get to do so for weeks at a time.

Things are starting to wrap up a bit this late in the spring. There are still some games that are scheduled to go off including what looks like a pretty big Saturday, April 22.

Big Ten Teams that wrapped up their spring games

The Michigan Wolverines were the first Big Ten football team to stage their spring game. They played on April 1. It appears that will allow them to sit back and watch the rest of the conference.

April 15 saw Indiana, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Penn State all staged their games. They also get to watch the rest of the Big Ten as the other schools wrap up their practice sessions.

On April 22nd, Nebraska football, Iowa, Minnesota, Northwestern, and Wisconsin will play spring games. That’s two days after Illinois had one of the weirder spring games as they played on Thursday night, April 20.

On April 29, the last Big Ten spring games will take place, as Rutgers and Maryland will have their big final scrimmage. That will wrap up spring games for the conference. At that point, it’s all about waiting for the regular season to begin in the fall.

One Big Ten football team that is sitting out spring games is Purdue. Construction on the stadium has made it so they had spring practice but not a big scrimmage that was made for television.
