The job may not be done for Nebraska football recruiting in regards to Gibson Pyle, who just got an offer from the Missouri Tigers.

While the Huskers just landed their third commit in the 2024 class, they also got a reminder that work is never done, especially this early in the year. The Nebraska football recruiting efforts got a bit of a wakeup call on Wednesday afternoon thanks to an old rival who came calling for Gibson Pyle.

Pyle, an interior offensive lineman who pulled the trigger for the Huskers on April Fool’s Day, was actually the second commit of the 2024 class for the Nebraska football recruiting bigwigs. However, even though he might consider his recruitment now closed, it’s pretty clear that the Missouri Tigers hope the Texas prospect might have second thoughts.

Pyle announced he got an official offer from Missouri. It’s a safe bet that the SEC school isn’t the only program that will come calling.

There are more than a few reasons why the interior offensive lineman, who is still moving up the 2024 prospect rankings, might be seen as a target by schools who would like to pilfer him out from under Nebraska football.

One reason why the Tigers might see some weakness when it comes to Nebraska football recruiting and Gibson Pyle is that the Huskers have not strictly tied off the state of Texas just yet. While it’s clear the coaching staff desperately wants to make the Lone Star State a fertile recruiting ground for Nebraska, that plan is in its infancy.

Of course, it’s not as though Mizzou has any kind of real claim on Texas, either. That might be one of the most interesting things about the Tigers coming after the offensive lineman, who has only been a commit for a couple of weeks. It will certainly be interesting to see where things go for Nebraska football recruiting and Gibson Pyle from here on out.
