Carter Nelson has been paying a ton of attention to a couple of Alabama schools while Central City gets ready to host the Nebraska Cornhuskers volleyball.
While there’s been a lot of Nebraska football recruiting focus on Dylan Raiola, there are a couple of other big-name players that the Huskers hope they’ll reel in. Carter Nelson is right at the top of the list. The Ainsworth tight end is inarguably the top prospect in the 2024 class for the state of Nebraska. Now the Nebraska Cornhuskers need to find a way to get him to stay home.
That task seems like it keeps getting more challenging by the day, especially when considering what teams are coming calling for the 4-star prospect. In the last few days, Nelson has taken a couple of unofficial visits to the state of Alabama. And in the process, he’s taken in both Alabama and Auburn.
The Tigers and new head coach Hugh Freeze are the latest schools that the Nebraska Cornhuskers target has visited. Granted, dozens of the best schools in the country would love to pull him away from his home.
For now, Nelson is still considered a Huskers lean. It will be interesting to see if Rhule and company can keep the kid in-state.

Nebraska volleyball spring exhibition sold out
John Cook and company are going to be playing an exhibition this spring in Central City, and all the people in and around that town showed on Monday just how popular the team is in this state.
Tickets for the event sold out in just under and hour. Nebraska football might still be the most beloved team in this part of the world but it’s pretty clear that there is a special kind of love for the volleyball team among Huskers fans.

Nebraska baseball gets two players of the week
The Huskers had themselves a very good week, outside of a rough Saturday that absolutely could have been a win with a bit more clutch hitting. Having said that, going 3-1 was still plenty impressive and a pair of Nebraska baseball players got quite a bit of credit on Monday.
Max Anderson was named the Big Ten Player of the Week as he just kept clicking away and is now hitting over .400 on the season with 11 home runs. Emmett Olson, who spun quite the gem for the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Friday night impressed enough that he earned Big Ten Pitcher of the Week.

B1G Player of the Week: Max Anderson
B1G Pitcher of the Week: Emmett Olson.
Both instrumental in #Huskers going 3-1 against Kansas State and Michigan.

- Carter Nelson isn’t the only in-state prospect who is taking in the sights well outside of his home area. Bellevue West wide receiver Isaiah McMorris took a trip to see USC this weekend.

- Nebraska Cornhuskers gymnastics might not get a ton of media run around here but it turns out the squad is pretty good in its own right. That was more recently demonstrated by the announcement that Emma Spence is headed overseas to represent the program.
Our favorite Canadian is headed to Japan‼️
