Mario Buford is one of the Nebraska football recruiting targets that could become a new member of the Huskers sooner rather than later.

Regarding Nebraska football recruiting, both the coaching staff and Huskers fans expect Matt Rhule and company to have a pretty good spring when it comes to commits. So far, Roger Gradney is the only actual commitment for the 2024 class, but it’s expected that more will be coming soon. And it appears that Texas defensive back Buford could very well be one of them.

247Sports’ Will Turboff is the latest recruiting expert who believes he knows where Buford is going. And Turboff is going, is Lincoln.

Turboff announced on Twitter earlier this week that he was officially entering a crystal ball for Buford to be the latest Nebraska football recruiting win. The analyst joins a growing crowd who believe that the defensive back is going to be a Cornhusker eventually.

There is one very big reason why Mario Buford might be a big win for the Nebraska football recruiting efforts. If he came to play football in Lincoln he could play alongside his brother Marques.

In point of fact, Marques has gone out of his way to make it very clear he’d like Mario to be his teammate when he’s able. And it appears that the pull to play with family is working.

Turboff is one of six crystal balls on 247Sports that are all predicting that the 3-star defensive back is eventually going to be playing for Matt Rhule. Over on On3, it appears that their recruiting experts aren’t quite as convinced the Huskers are going to win this recruiting battle, but NU is still the favorite with 61 percent chance of winning the race.

With 19 total offers, nothing is over. There are plenty of Power 5 conference schools that have come calling. But Nebraska football recruiting appears to be in good standing.
