The biggest news story for Nebraska Cornhuskers fans on Monday morning is that Spring Practice has officially started. The most interesting part of this year’s version of the practice is that it’s later in the year than usual. Matt Rhule and company seem to have done this with the express purpose of not having to deal with the week off right in the middle thanks to Spring Break.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers football team, as well as the rest of the student body all came back from spring break recently. That means that the Huskers will be able to be all business (and classwork).

The Nebraska Cornhuskers started spring practice bright and early with a 6 am kickoff. Rhule and some players will speak to the media right after.  Tomorrow, practice will start a bit later in the morning and the Huskers will find a schedule that makes a bit more sense for them.

Now that spring practice has officially started, there are more than a few storylines that are going to be quite interesting to watch. Right at the top of the list is just what comes from this spring and how Matt Rhule and his staff are building the team so that it can actually take the next step and leave the last six years in the past.

Other Nebraska Cornhuskers news

  • The Nebraska women’s basketball team managed to keep its season going on Sunday and is now in the round of 16 in the WNIT. Amy Williams’ and company seemed to actually have an easier time with Northern Iowa in the 77-57 win than Missouri State in the first round.
  • While there was good news for Nebraska women’s basketball, the Nebraska baseball team had a bad Sunday after managing to win the first two games against Nicholls State. Will Bolt’s boys have a problem with the third starter and the bullpen, and that was demonstrated again in their 10-7 loss.
