Nebraska Football: Miami Hurricanes fans making an odd push for Scott Frost as OC

Miami Hurricanes fans really want former Nebraska football coach Scott Frost and they’re going to some odd lengths to show it.

The former Nebraska football coach, who was fired just three games into his fifth season, has been a bit of an enigma since being dismissed. He hasn’t yet landed another job though he’s been linked to a few here and there.

This isn’t even the first time that the Miami Hurricanes have been linked to the former Husker quarterback. At least when it comes to the fan base. However, the latest talk on social media about the free agent coach landing in Miami is certainly the weirdest.

Apparently, a fan, or group of Hurricanes fans have made it a bit of a habit to mess around with Frost’s Wikipedia page. More often than not, the edits to the page tend to list him as the offensive coordinator for Miami.

Sometimes, as one Twitter user pointed out, the page change is pretty mild. Other times users have gone out of their way to be rather wild. The Locked On Canes Twitter account noticed that the latest Wikipedia edits are quite nonsensical. However, even with the level of nonsense on the post, there’s still a rather obvious desire to have the former Nebraska football head coach to be the Hurricanes’ offensive coordinator.

Nebraska Football Coach Headed To Miami Hurricanes?

The idea that Scott Frost might end up with the ACC school isn’t just coming from people who appear to be having a little fun with Wikipedia. In fact, just a week ago, On3 analyst J.D. Pickell took to the airwaves to say that he thinks Frost might be a very good fit for the Hurricanes.

Pickell made it clear that he likes Frost because he likes the idea of Miami’s next offensive coordinator also being a quarterbacks’ coach. Frost certainly fits the bill.

There are of course, numerous questions with this scenario. The first is that it’s not clear if the former Nebraska football star is looking to get back into coaching right away. He’s sitting on a nice chunk of change from the buyout with the Huskers.

Towards the end of his time in Lincoln, there was quite a bit of talk that Frost wasn’t really enjoying the work anymore. He might then enjoy getting paid to get a little rest.

The idea that he will be taking a job in Miami would also seem counterintuitive, considering that he just recently bought a very expensive house in Arizona.

Considering that, it will be interesting to see if the former Nebraska football coach is on the move or if Miami Hurricanes fans are just dreaming on their next OC.
