The Nebraska Cornhuskers football team officially wrapped up its 2023 recruiting class on Wednesday. In doing so, Matt Rhule and company had quite the haul. And that’s not just because they went from outside the Top 60 when he arrived in Lincoln and is now in the Top 25.

There’s also the fact that the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team now has 28 signees when adding in all the highschool, Junior College and transfers. That’s a massive, massive number.

That’s not just me saying that. The Huskers are tied for second in the country with that number. Only Oregon has more. Matt Rhule and company are tied with Alabama.

It makes some sense, considering the two factors that are surrounding Rhule’s hiring. The first is that the Nebraska football program simply hasn’t been very good of late. He’s also trying to reshape and rebuild the roster very quickly. It looks like he’s had quite a bit of success with that last part.

  • Speaking of the Bengals and a former Nebraska Cornhusker, Cincy’s wide receivers coach, who was also the wide receivers coach under Scott Frost in Lincoln once upon a time, might be getting a promotion.
