The Nebraska Cornhuskers finally introduced their offensive and defensive coordinators to the media and the fans on Friday. The press conference involving both Tony White and Marcus Satterfield shed quite a bit of light on what the football team has on deck.

White, in particular addressed a lot of questions about his 3-3-5 defense. There are some people who believe that particular defense isn’t going to work in the Big Ten. They don’t believe that it will stand up against the more physical offenses in the conference.

While he obviously wasn’t going to spill all the beans on how his defense would work, he did provide some answers.

“The biggest thing that helped us at my last school was when we all saw things the same way, we all knew what we were fighting for, it made us more difficult to stop.”

That underlaid the other thing he said about his defense. It’s going to be about the personnel. When it has the right personnel, it will adapt. He added that fans will likely see different fronts throughout a game.

  • When Nebraska and the Big Ten appear next fall on NBC instead of ESPN, they’ll have at least one familiar voice calling games. NBC managed to swipe Todd Blackledge away from ESPN for the Big Ten games.
