Former Nebraska football star Cam Jurgens is having himself a heck of a preseason.

Sometimes, when it comes to guys on the offensive line, performances can get lost. Especially in the preseason when they may not get all that much playing time.

However, it appears that the Philadelphia Eagles rookie has been so dominant at times this year that people all over the country have been noticing what he’s been doing.

There was quite a bit of talk about the kind of dominance that Jurgens was doing in the Eagles’ first game of the preseason, but the blocking he pulled off in Week 2 had Twitter absolutely going nuts.

That was especially true when it came to one particular clip where the former Nebraska football star absolutely ran over a defensive back in the open field.

It didn’t take long after that clip started circulating around the web that people stared singing his the Eagles’ offensive lineman’s praises.

More than a few people talked about how it appears that Jurgens is the heir apparent to Jason Kelce. That stands out especially because Kelce has been the starting center for Philly basically since he arrived 11 years ago.

There are more than a few people who believe that Kelce could be headed to the Hall of Fame before it’s all said and. For Cam Jurgens, getting mentioned in the same sentence as such a talented predecessor is high praise indeed.

All of the rave reviews for the former Nebraska football star is especially good to see when you consider the long road Jurgens has taken to get where he is at this point in his career.

It wasn’t that long ago that there were more than a few Huskers fans who were calling for him to be moved out of the center position. He was having enough problems getting the ball to quarterback Adrian Martinez with clean snaps that there seemed to be a chance he could indeed lose his starting job.

To head coach Scott Frost’s credit, he and the rest of the offensive coaches saw a talented player who simply needed to work out his issues. The Nebraska football team showed patience with a young player who was new to playing center, the rest is history and the future looks bright.
