While the Nebraska football team waits to see what happens when it comes to one of the Huskers’ top defensive line targets, there’s another one who could be pulling the trigger in Scott Frost’s favor quite soon.

4-star defensive end Cameron Lenhardt, arguably the absolute top target of the 2023 class for the Nebraska football team, is going to be announcing his commitment very soon. In fact, it appears the IMG Academy prospect could be handing the Huskers some very good news while they are in Ireland getting ready to take on Northwestern.

The Nebraska football team has been hard charging after the rush end for quite a while now. It seems as if those efforts are paying off.

Several recruiting services consider the Huskers the favorite to land Lenhardt, though it’s not yet a shoo-in.

Two other Big Ten schools are considered potential landing spots for the New York state native. However, both On3.com and 247Sports consider the Cornhuskers as the team to beat.

Lenhardt, who visited Lincoln back in June, is going to announce his decision on August 25. The Nebraska football prospect announced the date on his official Twitter account.

That means the waiting game for both the Huskers’ first game and their next commit could be coming to an end next week.

Should Lenhardt pull the trigger for the Nebraska football team, he’d be the 14th commit in the 2023 class that is currently a bit light on the defensive side of the ball. He’d also be just the second 4-star prospect to be added to the class and the second defensive end in the group.
