It’s a bit of a drop from David’s 92 Madden NFL 23 rating to Randy Gregory‘s 82, but it’s not like that rating is somehow a disappointment. Gregory’s road to Denver after leaving the Nebraska football team makes that number even more interesting.

Gregory had spent his entire NFL career with the Dallas Cowboys and after a rather resurgent 2021, it appeared that he might be a member of America’s Team for the rest of his career as well. However, the Cowboys decided they needed to put in a provision in his contract offer that was quite insulting.

Instead of taking that deal, he turned around and took a contract from the Denver Broncos that was basically identical to what the Pokes were offering, just without that particular provision.

Dallas’ loss is Denver’s gain as he’ll be leading what Broncos fan is a much-improved squad in 2022 that will definitely be basing whatever success it has on how much success its defense can have.

One big change from last year, other than the team he’s playing for, is that he’s rated as an outside linebacker in Madden NFL 23. For the Cowboys in 2021, he was a pass rushing defensive end who had just 19 tackles but did manage six sacks and 17 quarterback hits.

The former Husker also forced three fumbles in his 12 games for Dallas last year. It would appear with an 82 rating, the folks at Electronic Arts believe the former Nebraska football sack artists is going to have a career year.
